Days 2 & 3 : Coffee Crisp costs about a Loonie, pretty good deal eh?

Hi Friends.
O Canada....Our first stop out of the US is with our friends to the North.

But where exactly in Canada?  A few clues:  the world's largest (and possibly longest at 10 days) rodeo wrapped up the day before we arrived; the average age is 35.7 - a bit younger than our Florida hometown; it is the sunniest city in Canada with 2600 hours of sun; and it's referred to as Cow Town.  Yea - I still would have no idea.

We are in beautiful Calgary in the Alberta province.  We arrived yesterday and leave tomorrow morning.  A brief but good stay.  We were able to see some of the highlights and again met some very nice people and a moose (it's Canada eh!). Oh, and the high temperature today was 65.

Calgary has a cool pedestrian only street - Stephen Avenue Walk.  Tons of restaurants and bars with outdoor seating, lots of stores and entertainment venues along with street performers.  Although our best meal might have been lunch today a couple of blocks away at Shawarma House - awesome food, generous portions and a great owner.

Our waiter last night had an interesting tattoo on his arm.  Craig asked him if there was any special meaning.  He laughed and said when he moved to Calgary from Vancouver he wanted to get a tattoo to remind him of his hometown so he got the trees.  Then, according to him, he realized "every white guy in Canada with a tattoo has one of trees" so he added the mountains.

And finally, no visit to Canada is complete without a visit to their favorite coffee shop - Tim Hortons.  They are starting to expand in the states but are really big in their home country.  Coffee & donuts - what's not to like?

That's all for now.  We leave in the morning for our next stop in Canada and, weather permitting, a helicopter tour to see the sites.  Have a great one!

Enjoy the Ride!

P.S.
Quick translation of the title of the post : Candy bar costs about a dollar, pretty good deal right? :).
