We spent the day enjoying and exploring beautiful Banff. We walked around town a bit and then hiked up a mountain to get great views of the town and other mountains / valleys from above. Although our legs begged to differ, it was a great hike. It rained all the way up but that didn't dampen our spirits. We reached the summit rain soaked, a bit sweaty but still smiling!
We also continued to encounter wildlife in Banff - fortunately they were quite tame and even posed for a selfie with us.
The town of Banff is pretty cool with a bunch of restaurants and shops. We had dinner at their local fondue place - The Grizzly House. We were able to experience the Alberta Special which included Elk, Venison, Buffalo and Beef. My favorite was the Elk - Craig tied that with Venison for his faves.
It definitely is a small world. We met a nice couple on the bus from town to our hotel and were chatting about things. We ended up talking about where we were from and they live in St. Louis - not far from where we had our first house. They were on the Gondola earlier in the day - and it SNOWED! Craig thought he'd seen the snow on the mountain top but we weren't sure - they had pictures to share. Snow in July - during their summer - crazy.
After the rain earlier in the day, we spotted a rainbow outside of our hotel and were able to capture a picture. Pretty cool.
And. here's one last view from the Rimrock Hotel.
Enjoy the Ride.
