By The Numbers

Hi Friends!

We leave on our adventure in 10 days - yep, 10 days.  Crazy as we been planning for over 9 months.

Time is funny isn’t it?  Sometimes a day can feel like it lasts forever - either when you are doing something you don’t like or waiting for something amazing to start.  And sometimes a day flies by - especially when you are spending it with people you love doing something that brings you joy.

One thing I have learned as I have gotten more experienced (ahem...older) is that, along the way, you need to soak it all in no matter what kind of day you are living.    Seek out the people and things that fill your moments with joy - but don’t spend the rest of the moments waiting for that time - live in them! As one of our favorite sayings in our house reminds us ‘Time is Precious, Waste it Wisely’.  (I did warn you about the stream of consciousness:))

Ok, back to the numbers - 10 days until we embark on our 89 day adventure.  Many have asked about the logistics.  For those of you who know me from work I was able to satisfy my own warped sense of joy by creating 7 Excel spreadsheets (although no pivot tables) and even 1 PowerPoint - I know...what can I say it’s odd but it makes me happy!

We will visit 4 continents, 19 countries and 36 cities.  Getting us there we will be 2 ships, 3 trains, 22 planes along with 2 Czech and 1 Polish driver (gotta be a punchline somewhere...).   While there are just 2 of us we plan on sharing the experience with countless wonderful people along the way and making innumerable memories.

So many numbers, but the most important is 1.  We each get just 1 life - be sure to live your best 1.
